About Trinity Christian Academy
After 32 years of existence, our purpose is still being accomplished at the Academy. Our school program, which services infant through pre-kindergarten age, is designed to nurture children spiritually and academically at a developmentally appropriate level.
Focus is also placed on the children’s social and emotional growth as well as their physical and mental development, thus attending to the needs of the whole child. Our teachers recognize the uniqueness of each child and present academic opportunities through play, exploration, creativity and problem solving that respect that uniqueness. In so doing we support the idea that no two children are alike.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
All classroom activities at the Academy occur in large and small groups as well as individually. The curriculum utilized in each class is age appropriate and interest appealing for the age level. Besides teacher directed, instruction in the classrooms also involves unstructured and hands-on-activities. These stimulating experiences are often enjoyed most by the children since they allow them the time to interact and have fun with their peers while practicing their newly learned skills.
The staff at the Academy believe that children are more successful at school when their parents are involved in their education. Therefore, keeping the communication between our teachers and parents open and ongoing is a high priority. Parents are also encouraged to participate in school activities e.g. parent groups and special events and they are welcome to visit their child’s classroom at any time.
The Academy is a ministry of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac and operates under the guidelines of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs 2019. Although grade levels are expected to expand in the future, the school currently only accepts children ranging in age from 6 weeks through 4 years old.
